More Than Curriculum
At Freshwater we set a high expectation on a child’s growth and academic development. Whilst we understand every child is unique, we truly believe every child is created with a Godly purpose and unique destiny. Our academic programs are designed to develop basic skills, problem solving, decision making and character through Christian philosophy. Our curriculum is centred around a Biblical worldview while meeting the requirements of educational authorities.
Students in years 7-9 are entering their adolescent years. This stage of their life brings with it many challenges as the interests, needs and focus of this age are quite unique. Freshwater’s junior secondary department is structured to specifically meet these needs.
We recognise that students can only learn in an environment is safe and caring and that many students need additional support to progress through their education journey. We believe in educating and developing the whole person; including the social, mental and spiritual aspects of their life.
Other Curriculum Areas
At Freshwater, we see sport and physical education as key factors in a child’s development as they learn how to be part of a team, develop focus and commitment and build confidence in a safe environment. Across our College, from Prep up to the Senior years, we focus on providing fun and engaging sporting activities and programs for our students.
Our sporting and enrichment program (PGP) runs weekly as a core subject and provides opportunity for our whole College to get active.
We also offer the following competitive sporting teams for students to be a part of:
