Volunteering at Freshwater
Be a part of our Freshwater Community by being a valued volunteer. Help enhance our College while forming new friendships and gaining new skills. We love seeing our parents and grandparents in and around our College helping out and lending a hand!
We know how rewarding it is to both the individual and the College when people are able to volunteer and there are so many ways you can help!
- Class assistance
- College Café
- Freshwater Fair (May)
We very much appreciate our volunteers and the contribution that they make to our College and would like to clarify for everyone what the College policy is regarding volunteering at our College.
If a parent wishes to help out in class, they do not need to hold a Blue Card, however, they need to visit Main Reception to fill out a “Confidentiality Agreement” and our “Volunteer Form”.
Blue Card regulations will not allow us to obtain a Blue Card for parents of current students.
If a grandparent or other relative wishes to volunteer at the College, they will require a Blue Card before they commence volunteering. The College can assist them to apply for one. They also need to fill out the “Confidentiality Agreement” and “Volunteer Form”. All of this can be done at Main Reception.
If parents are able to assist with a camp or overnight excursion (like the Wheelbarrow Race), it is College policy that parents need to hold a current Blue Card (obtained from an outside organisation) or have a recent Police Check (within 30 days of departure) at their own expense. This is College Policy and there are no exceptions.
If parents hold a Blue Card, they are to give Main Reception a copy and Reception staff will confirm the validity of the card on the week of the camp.
If you have any further questions regarding Blue Cards or volunteering, please call into Main Reception and ask Karen or Sarah for more details.
