The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is a fantastic organisation helping parents all over the world to become the best parents they can be. This program was created at the University of Qld and is currently supported by the Qld Government to provide parents with free access to this valuable parenting information.
Recently, we encouraged our parent community to attend a Triple P parenting information night and ran a competition for anyone who attended. It was a great night with around 600 parents attending. A number of parents from FCC attended and we were blessed to be able to award Anita Jackson with a $50 voucher from Limberlost Nursery Café just for attending and entering our competition.
It was such an encouragement to me to see many of our parents there as I know that what we sow into our parenting efforts is also what we will reap from them.
Currently, the Qld government is offering the Triple P Parenting Online Course for free. I would encourage parents from our community to undertake this free course as we can always learn better ways to improve our parenting. I have two 20 year old children and I am still learning so I am also going to do this course to help me as a parent. The course also offers numerous free resources once you access it.

As another parenting option, I am running series 2 of the Parenting from the Tree of Life course during Term Two. It does not matter if you have missed series 1 as this program will be continuously running every year and you can catch up in 2017. There are three series in the course and each series runs for six weeks. Eight parents attended series one and have found the information invaluable. I am totally committed to this course as it helped my wife and I raise to wonderful children who are amazing young adults with great character and purpose for their lives.
