    COVID-19 – One day at a time

    Romans 15:13 (NLT)
‘I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.’

As we currenlty walk through this new season we are encouraged that God is still with us and we continue to place our hope in Him and His goodness. Our Pastoral Care Team have created some simple activities we can do to help us get through this challenging time. We encourage parents to discuss these with your children and practice them as a family.

    1. Take a Day at a Time
    ● Do not worry.
    Matthew 6:31-34 (NLT)
31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’
32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
33 Seek the Kingdom of God [a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

    2. Practice Gratitude.
    ● Giving thanks helps to keep our state of mind positive
    ● So much to be grateful for right now. (Counting blessings is good practice.)
    ● Prayer and praise. He is worthy of our praise. We are wired to praise Him, the best way to stay connected is praise. Spending time with Him provides us with a God perspective of our reality.

    3. Practice Kindness
    ● It’s the Church’s time to shine. John 13:35 “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples”
    ● Acting out of grace and compassion to all. Be gentle to one another.

    4. Reinforce Rule 8 of the ‘My Life Rulz’ program – ‘All things can be talked about and most things can be sorted out.’
    ● Talk to someone that you think can be a help to you.
    ● Do not let our thoughts become irrational.
    ● Rule 8 in the school diary. Reinforcing our My Life Rulz truths. Encourage students to check the school diary and read the rules.

    5. What We Can Practically Do
    ● Hygiene/ social distancing/follow the guidelines implemented by our government.
    ● Share helpful resources with one another. Be careful with humour.
    ● Stay connected with one another regularly by mobile, email, social media.
    ● Participate in online church services.
    ● Operate within your skillset and guidelines, don’t step outside of these.
