Harrison Plasto is representing Australia, as goal-keeper, for the Australian national U11 futsal team at the USA National Futsal Championships. The 31st U.S. Futsal National Championship will be held in San Jose, California, at the San Jose Convention Centre between July 14 – 17, 2016. In conjunction with U.S. Futsal’s 35th. Anniversary and the 8th Pacific Cup of Nations.
Last year at the local school titles in Cairns, Harrison was selected to represent FNQ at the national school titles in Brisbane. A large number of teams from around the country competed at various futsal venues in Brisbane and culminated at a presentation night at Dreamworld. His performance at the nationals for our FNQ team had him selected by a coaching panel that included votes from all the competing teams’ coaches from around Australia as the national all-star goalkeeper. There were 5 players per age group awarded the All Star title including one keeper. This earned him immediate selection on the National u11’s, competing this year in the USA. They will train in San Francisco in early July before the competition later in the month.
This is going to be a major adventure for him and something that has progressed from representing his school to representing his country. Huge congratulations Harrison!
